Why Loving Yourself Is Not Enough, You Must Cherish Yourself
There is much rhetoric around self-love and loving yourself.
And while I am 100% supportive of both, as we embark upon the month of love this February, I want to invite you to go even deeper.
Love is defined as an intense feeling of deep affection, and a great interest and pleasure in something or someone.*
Cherish is deeply valuing, protecting and caring for someone, lovingly.*
In addition to loving yourself, I invite you to spend more time with yourself and figure out how you want to truly cherish yourself. One way to start, is on a surface level, nourish your skin and hair. Put natural ingredient products into your skin, spend extra time truly penetrating your face and body and each hair strand with moisturizing and healthy nutrients.
And on a physical level, drink more water every single day, each a piece or pieces of fruit and vegetables to nourish your organs, blood and digestive system.
Spiritually, how are you feeding your spirit? Is it prayer, meditation, soul talks with sisterfriends? Journaling and long walks are also options to connect with and nurture positivity with your spirit.
Mentally, what are you reading? What kind of content are your watching. Are you breathing consciously with each step? Or does anxiety get the best of you and you forget to breathe, thereby not living fully because you are not present?
Please make it a priority to connect with yourself, learn to appreciate all of who you are, know that you are worthy of love, starting with yourself, and grow to truly cherish your life, and yourself.
In grace & gratitude,
Olivia F. Scott
